Trained as an architect, I later developed an interest in textiles using various techniques for wall hangings for exhibition and commission for public or domestic spaces. I now work almost entirely in handmade felt, finding that it encourages the fluent freedom of expression found in painting. There is also a richness of variety in surface treatment to be chosen specifically for each subject or theme. I generally use stylized or abstract forms. My underlying interest through all my recent work is in primal creation and evolution; in the interaction of creative spirit and the material created universe.
